it's easy as pie - the Grimaldi / Savino three carboys will take less than an hour. We start by siphoning off into a clean carboy, and wash the ones we've just emptied to siphon the next carboys.
My guess is that you won't lose any volume from the Syrah. If we do though, it will need less than 750 ml - you might consider bringing a medium quality bottle as a topper. Or not.
The Grenache could be a whole other story. It was darned opaque, and I'm guessing between the two cbs you could loose up to a gallon of volume. But we have a good number of 3 gallon and one gallon bottles, so shouldn't have a problem.
